"acceptable"
Old but tidy ferry. Restaurant a la carte acceptable
"An experience to forget"
The ferry journeys between Bari and Durres and the return Durres to Bari is one I am not likely to repeat. Both ports could do with learning how to organize car ferries. I suggest the port authorities visit either Dover or Calais to see how it should be done. The ferry in both directions was late leaving and slow and grossly over crowded. The ferry from Durres to Bari was about 5 hours late added to which there was about a 2 hour wait to get through passport control. This put unwanted pressure on my drive to Calais where I had another ferry to catch. I doubt if I shall be using the Bari - Durres ferry again. I might also add the food in the cafeteria was only luke warm. I think next time I visit Albania I shall go by air.
"TERRIBLE !!! "
I would not recommend this ferry service. The trip started 5 hours behind schedule, arrived 5 hours late and we had to wait another 2 hours to disembark, total 7 hours delay !!!
"bad experience"
bad service, 3 hours and a half late. Rude staff on board, everywhere is dirty. Don-t book with this company
"always late"
I travelled from Bari to Durres and from Durres to Ancona. 3 hours late both ways. Boarding time not organized at all. The staff on board is nice and the ship clean and cozy.
"august trip"
Even if the ship is old, it's always clean and tidy. Too busy on August with people sleeping everywhere on the carpet and at the bar. They should book less people on deck space, offering an higher service.
"my experience "
all good, but they have to improve the timetables. Because of some people that arrive late we can't leave late. Thay should reject them. Thanks
"good family trip from Bari to Durres"
Our family of four was very pleased with our July 2014 trip from Bari to Durres on the Aurelia. We had a 4-person inner cabin with bath that was perfect for our needs...clean and quiet for a good night's sleep on a smooth sail. What a relief after the chaotic and dirty surroundings at the Port of Bari waiting area! ugh! The auto loading process is a mess, but I don't know how much is Adria Lines fault...it is a giant waste of time and a bad last experience of Italy.
"ferry"
I booked a cabin and paid the full price for almost 250 € and then I found out that people who booked with deck space for just 30€ , they could have a cabin without bathroom for only EUR 8 each or with bathroom for 20 euro difference. I find it unfair. It was also the night of the semi-finals of the world championship and I couldn't wantch the match cause - always those who booked the deck space - were using an entire sofa and then there was no place available to sit at the bar (and of course the unpleasant smell with all the shoes on the floor), I pointed out to staff: 1) it was not fair that I had not even the possibility to sit at the bar because people were sleeping on the sofa 2) it was not nice that a lot of people were sleeping on the ground under the stairs and corridors and the staff did nothing. Fortunately, the cabin was clean and acceptable although in a cabin with shower there was a towel that could rightly be called tissue.
"A crossing on 20-27 June 2014"
Very good! The outbound crossing was better than the inbound crossing, but maybe it's just because the holidays ending are not as good as the holidays beginning!
"a great atmosphere"
The boat was clean and the staff is always trying to please the clients. The only thing lacking in our cabin was the flat sheet and the towels, but we were given some when we asked for them. The atmosphere on board was good. See you soon.
"A crossing between Ancona and Durres"
We are used to make the crossing between Sete and Tanger Med aboard a larger and better equiped ferry: -the AC wasn't working properly -the only restaurant which was open was too small and the food was canteen quality -there was only one lounge and it had been turned into a dormitory by passengers -our campervan was stuck between the trucks and it took us some time to disembark -I'll recommend this ferry, but with some warnings
"Very average trip with Adria Ferries"
I would not recommend Adria Ferries. Upon arrival at the ferry terminal in Durres I, and approximately 20 other vehicles, were made to wait for over 2.5 hours before boarding - despite other cars of equal size boarding much earlier. When I enquired why we were not boarding I was told that my vehicle (VW Passat) was "too large" to go up the ramp the other vehicles were using. Two hours later I was instructed to enter the ship using that very same ramp! The ship was 2 hours late arriving in Bari. No explanation or apology was given. The cabin was, at best, basic. I have travelled many times by ferry (mainly from Croatia to Italy). Jadrolinja is a significantly better/more professional operator, just a shame they don't travel to Albania!
"Observation on the seating"
The ferry company needs to replace the armchairs, they are in very bad condition.
"satisfactory "
The cabins must be cleaned thoroughly. In the corners is visible old dust and paper scraps. The shower curtain is dirty and old. The ceilings have spots. The freshly made bed sheets are clean.
"assessment "
:-(
"A crossing"
Avoid this crossing. The cabins are unsanitary, the state of the furniture was deplorable.
"First travel by ferry ever"
Need to say that me and my girlfriend were expecting something worse and not comfortable from the travelling itself, but fortunately everything was just cool! Our trip was a night ferry from Durres, Albania to Bari, Italy on 15 September. Due to some electricity shortcuts in Durres and thunder storm in sea we thought we'll be near toilette, if you know what I mean... Check-in started more than 3 hours prior to departure. We were one of first ones who passed passport control and took our cabin. As the whole ship, cabins are pretty old as well. We after talked to staff, and they told that this 'machine' is on duty since 1974! So, almost 40 years on water is a pretty good work, comparing to what this Italian ship could provide for travelers 30 years ago! Facilities are old, but good. Shower, bathroom is simple and cozy. Cabin itself was not that comfortable due to we wanted to have two beds on same level, but I was sleeping above my girlfriend. But when we were leaving ferry, we saw that there were cabins with window and two beds on first level let's say, so not one above another like in trains for example. Sounds of motors were a bit annoying in first hour when we were still standing in Durres. But after we felt asleep, and even enjoyed this motor sound and cozy beds. Unfortunately, you can pay only in Euro, what we really did not want to understand. We're living in 21st century, this ferry's route is well-known by the staff, loads of Albanian people go every day to Italy. Italian staff was rude, did not want to accept Albanian Lek. Of course, it is not staff's fault: they are doing their business what they were told to do. But it does not mean that they must to be rude and unfriendly to anyone on board at all! They must be competent, professional and tolerant. So overall, we had a problem with Italian teller-guy at the dining room (bar downstairs), he was knocking with spoon very loudly for some reason, did not want to understand in English a word, was not polite and was 'playing a Big Boss role' at restaurant. Since we don't know Italian, we did not understand what he was saying (swearing I would say) us... That was his luck. Loads of staff workers from other countries: Croatia, Montenegro, Philippines, Italy, Ukraine, Russia, etc. Montenegrians are very lazy, slow and don't like to work. Italians are at bars, Philippians are at receptions and Information sites, captain of ferry was Croatian woman and also there were technicians from Ukraine and Russia. Overall, it was a really pleasant trip. I'd recommend travelers to book en-suite cabin with window, toilet and bathroom. We traveled without any vehicle, so for us a simple sitting place would cost around 90 Euro, but the cabin's price was 150 for two of us! So, basically it was even cheaper and cozier! :) Wish you safe trips! Cheers!
"The Floating Toilet "
"We can not enjoy our short journey by ferry. The ship was a big urine hole. The comeplete ship smelled of human excretions About trolled prices" "Resturant" "for a bit of microwave pasta with an acidic tomato sauce I have 5 € have to pay for the size the plate I do not want to talk. the staff was nice but That was the first time I went with a ferry and it is also the last time . This I have not really to use for sleeping, the blankets were with brown it stains was no clean space in the complete ship One can compare with slums in Brazil it really and I bet that in this poverty a better Cleanliness is available as on the ship ONCE BY FERRY NEVER AGAIN WITH THE FERRY I've almost € 1,000.00 paid biggest error pure rip-off "
"A ferry which needs improvements"
We made the crossing between Durres and Ancona. We had booked a reclining seat. Hovever, once on board, it was impossible to seat. All the families, who didn't book a cabin, put their luggage on the seats to 'book' them. Moreover, the seats looked very run down! I can't remember exactly how much those seats cost, but it's almost a scam to sell something like this! Moreover, the ferry was supposed to leave at 5pm. We left at 7pm. We were asked to come 180 minutes before departure. However, we only board 90 minutes before departure. It was not a great crossing. It was way too noisy and the facilities were dilapidated.
"Regular or irregular service"
A delay of more than 2 hours, because of volontary late comers, who come at the end of boarding to be the first people to exit the boat. The company was very laxist with those individuals. Why? Bribing? The service at the bar wasn't adapted. No special care or service for people in luxury cabin.
"Trip from Durres to Bari "
The trip on its way to Bari was correct, nothing to pinpoint. But on the way back, we had a very bad experience with the bar assistant. She made us wait for both the orders and coffee servings while she played with her phone. I think that shows lack of professionalism and respect.
"Durres - Bari on the Francesca"
Night crossing with reclining seats. One hour delay at arrival.
"Improvements"
I would say they could improve on all aspect but it was OK though.
"By motorbike"
We’ve had an overnight sailing and driving up the ramp we’ve been glad that the surface was dry (the same when going down again) We had to attach the bikes on our own and could consider ourselves lucky that it’s been only the 2 of us since we could only see 2 cords/ waling boards? Cabins were clean, small, there have been 2 beds where one could comfortably sleep in. After having a shower we noticed that the towel was a bit too small to wrap it around the body. In regards of dining on board we can’t say anything since we had dinner before boarding the ship. Staff on board is very friendly and try to answer all your questions
"Love this ship!"
i was onboard for more than 10 months as 3rd engineer and really enjoyed my stay. Hoping to get back onboard again soon!
