"A lovely way to get Cross the Sea!"
We had a tremendous experience aboard the Express from Troon to Larne! The service was terrific and the speed of loading and unloading was so much better than we could have imagined! We will definitely ride again some day!
"Great, efficient sailing."
I thoroughly enjoyed my trip to Northern Ireland for my nephew's wedding. The staff were friendly and the timing was perfect. I would definitely recommend the Express P&O service Troon and Larne

"Motorbike Tour in Ireland"
We took went on a motorbike tour around Ireland and decided to take the P&O Ferry to get from Scotland to Ireland. The Ferry has a good price, is quick (took 2hours), offers a range of food and beverages and has good seating. Our bikes had been taken good care of. They are getting secured by the crew. Overall a good experience. And we will take it again.
"Leaving the ship at Troon as a foot passenger"
At Troon as you know foot passengers have to leave the ship using the rear yellow stairway down to the car deck. When leaving the ship on Friday the upper landing as you leave the passenger accommodation area was extremely wet with a significant accumulation of surface water. The stairway was also extremely wet. I think this could pose a health and safety risk for some passengers and perhaps the crew should try and clear this water away using some form of absorbant matertial before foot passengers are allowed to leave the ship. Otherwise this is a great service with staff at Larne Troon and on the ship very friendly and helpful.
"Larne-Troon"
Convenient and easy
"Travel to Scotland / Ireland"
Excellent service, very comfortable. A little pricy, but probably wheel worth the cost.
"Excellent service"
Traveling 1 adult (broken ankle in plaster and pares) 2 kids 1 age 6 & 1 age 5. I would like to congratulate you on the all staff who helped me with my trip, I had broken my ankle and really can not get over the excellent service provided from departure and arrival at both ends. Also ship entertainment team for kids is a credit and thoroughly enjoyed by kids a service that could not be done with out ,the leader Jennifer was fantastic. John who works on Larn end is great and very pleasant an absolute asset, all staff very pleasant and helpful would definitely recommend. Many Thanks Penny Parker
"Express"
Although a little late in sailing, trip was very relaxing staff were polite and helpful, facilities were clean, have no problem in recommending them to anyone who asks.
"Trip to Ireland"
Ferry left on time, staff were very friendly and polite. Service in the restaurant was excellent, food was very good. As a seasoned ferry passenger who regularly goes to France and Belgium on various companies ships, I had no complaints at all. I would use them again.
"Troon- Larne"
A punctual and pleasant service. Comfortable seating areas and courteous staff. Large windows for sea views. One point that I would love to see change in future design if possible: larger deck space. There is a special atmosphere with traditional deck where you have a broad horizon and the feeling of spaciousness. That said, the ferry does perform a speedy journey in comfort.
"Holiday trip"
Nice trip, clean ferry with comfortable seats
"Great sailing"
Thanks for the nice fast crossing. Great service and people on board. Will sail again soon. Finbarr Cork.
"A little late, but comfortable"
The Express had some engine troubles and ran about 25 minutes late, but overall it was a good experience. The boat was clean, crew was helpful, food was fine and not unreasonable, and it was a smooth passage.
"Larne-Troon return trip"
Very helpful and pleasant staff. Captain kept us very well informed. Troon route was a very good choice leaving us much nearer Glasgow and cutting our driving miles to Edinburgh, our destination. Thank you!
"Great Experience"
First time my wife and have used the ferry to Ireland and it won't be our last. The crossing is obviously weather dependant however we were very comfortable on board and feel it was well worth paying the extra fee to use the Club Lounge.
"Troon very convenient from central Scotland"
We tried the Troon ferry for the first time after previously using ferries to Ireland from Stranraer/Cairnryan. It is certainly much more convenient from the Scottish central belt, and takes a considerable time off the drive to the ferry port, while the crossing time is the same. There is only one ferry a day so you mustn't miss it! The crossing was smooth, and it was very easy to find a free seat. The only shame was that the exterior viewing area is tiny and dominated by smokers. (Photos from inside are not good due to sea spray on the windows.)
"Way to Travel"
Most enjoyable experience - as is usual on this crossing even allowing for the seastate. The service is fast and the crew very pleasant. The boat is also spotless everywhere. There are enough parts of the accommodation to suit most peoples requirements on a 2 hr crossing.
"Troon to Larne"
On time, hassle free crossing. Staff were friendly and the cream scone and coffee went down a treat. I found no rubbish lying around as staff seemed to be on top of gathering up any rubbish.
"motorbike tour"
Both my wife and I enjoyed the ferry crossings and would certainly use this company again, we paid a little extra for club class seats for the extra privacy and comfort, both crossings were enjoyable, and it couldn't have been easier travelling with a motorbike, this was my first ferry crossing with a bike but it was an easy, well organised operation from start to finish
"No problems"
We had a pleasant journey with P&O and everything was straight forward. The only thing I would mention is the painted steps on way back to cars. The last one is painted different to the rest and my mother had a fall as she thought she was on the flat surface.
"Troon - Larne return"
Excellent service - this is the second time we have booked this route first time for a trip to Dublin and more recently for trip to Belfast. service was good and though the return trip was a bit "bumpy" the captain kept us fully informed.
"First time we have journeyed from Scotland to Ireland."
An excellent crossing. Couldn't ask for better service, comfort and facilities. Would recommend to anyone.
"Cairnrayan to larne return trip"
Very enjoyable journey on time and quick
"Motorbike trip"
Smooth crossing helpfull staff and nice food on ferry. Will 100% use again.
"Trip on direct ferries."
No complaints .Really enjoyed the trip.
"Smooth crossing with motorbike"
Excellent time first time using ferry crossing Over Irish sea would like to thank all staff for their efforts as there were vast amounts of bikes going to North west 200 will be back next year, even had different bike no problem when I turned up with different reg Thanks for great journey Regards Gerry
"Ferry larne Belfast"
Good
"A good experience"
I have no complaints at all about the experience; the delay on the journey was apparently outwith the control of the operators (though it would be only polite if passengers were informed in greater detail about the reasons for a delay.) I've often thought, however, that it is a lost opportunity not to provide more information about the route of the journey. The Clyde estuary is one of the most interesting and complex in these islands, and it would be nice to be able to know exactly where the ship is at any time, as is frequently done in air travel. I don't suggest loudspeaker announcements, which would annoy as many passengers as it would interest, there being more than enough such announcements as it is, but at least clear maps displayed by which passengers could identify some of the stunning sights before them, instead of letting them pass in ignorance. I noticed an interesting Information Board dealing with the history of P&O, but that's about you! All sorts of information could be provided: history, geology, land use and so on, relating to such eye-catching features as Ailsa Craig, or Arran and its smaller islands, Island Magee, the Rhinns of Galloway and so make the journey even more attractive without intruding on other passengers. Your crews sail these routes every day and are accustomed to seeing what is in front of them; for most passengers it is a relatively uncommon experience, often part of a holiday, and could easily be made a lot more memorable in the manner I describe.
"A pleasant trip"
We were pleased with the punctuality and speed of the journeys between Cairnryan and Larne.
"Pleasant crossing"
Very enjoyable journey. Staff very helpful @ cheerful. Love this crossing.
"Smooth Sailing"
Easy boarding and exiting ship. Everyone was very professional.
"Mid week break"
The ferry crossing was excellent. The staff were very helpful and facilities on board were great. The down side was there are no facilities for a light snack whilst you wait to board. Would recommend this ferry crossing.
"Fantastic Experience"
We booked our sailing with directferries online. Return Larne to Troon with P&O Irish Sea - Express The booking was very straight forward and no problems experienced. We would higly recommend Direct Ferries and we would have no hesitation dealing with them again. Overall a fantastic experience. Great Ship, very comfortable travel, cinema, bar, kids Play Area, Dining facilities, Shop very clean and great staff.
"Pleasant Sailings "
We went on a different ship than advertised because the usual one was in dry dock for regular maintenance. However, that was not a problem. We came back in the fast ferry which was slightly late in docking. We sat in the lounge at the rear of the ship which was very comfortable. My one suggestion would be: Please turn off the canned "music". It was marked as a Quiet Area.
"Doon the Clyde"
My return trip home delivering a car from Belfast to Scotland was made that much more enjoyable due to a fine weather crossing from Larne to Troon. I arrived well refreshed and ready for a further three hour drive home.
"You get what they promise."
I am very happy to share my wife and my experience on the P and O Sea Ferry, Express. Over the years we have travel internationally and nationally with P and O and again last week the service between Cairnryan and Larne was excellent, "You get what they Promise" You can be sure we will be with you in the future.
"An excellent journey"
The trip from Stranraer to Larne and back was very well organised - speedy boarding and disembarking. The staff were very helpful and courteous and the food service was good. Seats were comfortable - we would definitely travel this way again
"Traveling to Ireland from the UK"
Our recent experience with Direct Ferries and the P&O Lines was very positive. Customer service was very good, from initial contact, through schedule revisions, reception gate personnel, to the on-board crew. We were treated with courtesy every step of the way. The ferry was clean and well maintained, very up-to-date. We felt safe at all times. The ferry departed and arrived on time, on schedule. What more can you ask?
"Nice trip"
I had a pleasant journey ,especially when I discovered the 'quiet area' so I wasn't surrounded by screaming kids running around .
"Troon to Larne 3/09/13 and Larne to Troon 15/09/13"
Travelled with my husband and a mobility scooter, from check in at Troon , on the ferry , and on the return journey , the staff were FANTASTIc. So so helpful , THANKYOU
"Jounrney to and return"
I enjoyed my journey from Larne to Troon and return journey. I have only one small complaint. My ticket was for a long stay and I had plenty of luggage and I found at larne I could use a trolley to move my luggage around easily but when I got to Troon no trolleys are available. On the return journey I had even more luggage but had to get friends to help me in the Troon Terminal. It would be of great benefit to passengers if Trolleys could be provided at this end. When I arrived on my return journey to Larne Staff did help me with my two trolleys which I really appreciated. If trolleys could be provided it would help the passenger get luggage to car on arrival and departure. A part from that service was excellent and I hope to use your services soon. Thank you George Brown
"Happy experience"
Quick efficient service. Staff very courteous and helpful. Trouble free travel both going to Scotland and coming back. A lovely experience.
"Ireland the easy way"
Booking one car and four passengers was made easy using the online system and at a fair price. The ferry crossing was a pleasant experience with everything we needed available on the ship, food drink and a relaxing atmosphere.
"Troon to Larne Express Ferry"
Excellent journeys ... Staff help wonderful. I am disabled and was well directed to a close door where I was met by a young man with a wheelchair. It could not have been more convenient and appreciated on the help.
"Journey Larne to Troon"
Excellent ferry service and club class seats just added to the top class service.
"My first trip."
This was my first trip to Troon. From check in to check off everything went plain sailing.
"Thankyou"
Great trip, on time, lovely crew. Alan
"FERRY TO SCOTLAND"
We had a very comfortable trip using the club lounge. My family spoke highly of how well the entire trip was from start to finish. We will do the same thing next year.
"Cancellation of ferry to Troon on 28 Aug 14"
THE return voyage to Troon was cancelled and the reason given was because of bad weather.Instead of Troon our ship went to Cairnryan. The crossing to Cairnryan was very calm and many of the diverted passengers were puzzled by this.We were told by several frequent travellers on this route that this was not an unusual occurrance and often when few passengers were going to Troon they were often transferred to the Cairnryan boat instead. This appeared to make sense as we experienced a very smooth crossing.I would be interested to know what the shipping weather forecast was for that afternoon crossing and whether it was just a way of saving money for P&O.
"larne to troon ferry and return"
had a good trip both ways, My issue is that the space for my motorbike (Harley Davidson ultra classic tourer) is very narrow which makes it very difficult for me to get off the bike once inside the barrier. I would suggest the space be made a little wider and proper ratchet tie-downs be used instead of a piece of rope. Thanks Liam
"If it was cheaper I'd use it a lot lot more"
This was my first ferry experience in ages and it was very good, much improved, The cleanliness, staff and facilities were great apart from the rank coffee in the café so had to buy another of the starbucks ones instead. I just wish this trip was cheaper. £90 for a motorbike is a rip off. If it was even £70 I'd travel at least once every 2 -3 months rather than just once a year. Seats up at the childrens area are soooo uncomfortable. Sit elsewhere.
"A Trip To Ireland"
We recently travelled with P&O Ferries from Troon to Larne with a car. The booking was made on line through Direct Ferries online website. All worked very well including the later amendment of our hire car type & registration. We booked the executive lounge on board which gave us priority loading & unloading along with the comfort of a quiet lounge on board, which we felt was worthwhile.
"Excellent crossing from Troon to Larne"
We had an excellent crossing from Troon to Larne last week. We had priority loading and club seats, and we were very happy with the service and felt it was goof value for money. The loading process was quick and the unloading even quicker. The service in the club area is efficient and pleasant. The servers are helpful and friendly. Excellent overall experience.
"Excellent service"
Very positive experience. Our first time on a ferry crossing and would definitely recommend!
"Gotta love Troon as a fast port to Scotland"
Well having done a regular commute to Edinburgh from Dublin over the past 2 years, I can only rave about the PO trips to Troon particularly, as a port. I wish Troon was available in the winter as the long alternative drive over poor roads from Stranraer is miserable and being regularly stuck behind traffic just makes it seem worse. Directferries is the way to go as it puts up pretty reasonable prices (at consistently good rates, having also routinely checked the individual shipping companies sites). Getting a trip rate takes patience of course if you are not used to the multiple choice questions on the website - but I am getting pretty quick at it now. The loading process is expertly and pleasantly handled every time. One thing about the last P&O ferry trip to Troon though was that the canteen trays were ALL filthy and it took two comments and then a complaint to get the staff behind the counter to even look at the issue and then take them away for washing. At first they seemed to think that they were acceptable and after a second comment to a more senior staff member, he took a look and took them away. Similarly the Ladies Toilet could have done with a deeper clean. Kitchens and Loos always need that extra clean - no excuses. Because if they are failing up front, you immediately wonder what it looks like in the areas where the public can't see the standards of hygiene. Of course it might have been a one off but the cross indifference of the staff to the issue made me mention it a second time as they continued to serve food on sub-standard utensils. Hilariously I noticed that the staff member I spoke to bolted behind a door when she saw me come back a second time.
"Slightly frustrated"
Whilst the actual journey was fabulous i was disappointed when I realised that the Direct ferries offices are completely closed on a Sunday! I was a little bit frustrated that I couldnt contact anyone on the Sunday. My ferry crossing was cancelled on the Saturday and I received a phone call where alternative crossings were offered, but I wanted to change my return time on the Monday and couldnt, because the office is closed on a sunday and closes eary on a saturday at 4pm. I think for a company that offeres fares for ferry crossings on a Sunday not to be opened that day or late on saturday is disappointing.
"fantastic trip to Ireland"
The Ferrie to Ireland was as if you were on a cruise ship! We upgraded to the lounge and had a lovely trip with wine and wonderful treats. The seating wa very comfortable.
"Fast, punctual crossing"
Fast efficient crossing. Only downside for me was the terrible film being screened in the front of the area we were sitting ("Pitch Perfect" I think?). But I managed to zone out from it after a while.
"Sailing from Larne to Troon with P&O"
Excellent service, always on time, staff courteous, and we always enjoy the movie which takes up the whole journey. Wouldn't sail any other way
"Troon to Larne P&O Ferry"
The trip was very smooth and enjoyable, food was excellent and staff were very friendly and efficient. The crossing however is advertised as taking one hour fifty minutes. It left Troon 15 minutes late and took 2 hours 15 minutes. It left larne 5 minutes early and took 2 hours 15 minutes. Need to update the crossing time. I also felt it was a bit to expensive for the crossing at £337 return for a small car and two passengers. I will use it again though but would go more often if it was cheaper.
"Troon to Larne ferry crossing"
Recently took ferry crossing & found it very good Well organised &good facilities Went club class which gives you free coffee tea & snacks
"Unsatisfied customer"
My family and I did not enjoy our return trip from Troon to Larne as it it was very noisy due to the large amount of people travelling for the 12th parades. We felt very intimidated by the loudness of the group who sat near us. One of your staff come down and we presumed he was going to ask them to keep the noise down but instead of that he hugged and had the crack with them. I have no problem with people travelling and having the crack but I paid the same mount of money and our journey was not pleasant all and we did not receive equality of treatment . We could not wait to get off the boat. That is my review of our trip back Regards Cathal
"Enjoyed the service"
We enjoyed crossing to Ireland on the ferry during our recent visit. The boarding process is well managed, painless, and on-time. I hope that security does random vehicle checks outside of the cursory questioning we had. Also, the door into the coach class cabin makes an ungodly loud noise when closed...which was very often on our busy booking from Troon to Larne. Otherwise, a good experience that I would do again.
"Irish crossing"
Very reliable experience. Prompt efficient boarding. Good space for vehicles. Great facilities on board. Smooth sailing even on a windy and rainy return. Troon is a great addition to those in the central belt for crossing. Would use this crossing again.
"Fast Ferry"
I've been on quite some ferries but this one is really high speed. The jet stream is more than one mile long! It takes two hours from Larne to Troon on this clean boat just enough time to watch a recent movie (Walter Mitty). Everything was in order, the toilets where very proper. If you are travelling in a Campervan which is 3 metres high (or higher) you should book a good time in advance because the availability for these vehicles is limited. Have a nice journey. Marcel
"Great Service"
This is the second year in a row i have used the Larne to Troon Ferry and find it a superb service from check in to loading to the service onboard to off loading i cannot find fault. Would recommend over and over again.
"The best way to travel abroad"
We, as a family have travelled on P&O Ferries from Larne to Troon and back for several years and have always enjoyed the trips. The ease of access and exit by car to and from the ferry is so easy that even the less experienced driver will have no bother. All your needs are attended to and the staff are so courteous and helpful. You don't have to bring the kitchen sink but you can pack the car with all your wants and even the roof rack too.
"A most excellent ferry"
My journey was very relaxing. Such a smooth ride and excellent service/updates. Loved the sea trip.
"P&O Ferry from Larne to Troon"
My wife and I had the pleasure of a Larne to Troon P&O ferry crossing in late May 2014. The online booking via DirectFerries.co.uk was extremely intuitive & easy. Arriving at the ferry we found the staff all very helpful and were onboard and under way in no time. The ferry was very well presented and we were blessed with a very calm crossing, enjoying the onboard facilities and the convivial atmosphere in the bar. Troon is a gorgeous wee tidy town and our road out well sign-posted. 10/10 on all counts - thanks very much. Mark & Tania Ryan, Nelson NZ
"troon to larne"
First ferry journey, it could not have been easier, smooth sail, on time , easy boarding and worth that little bit extra for club class. Would certainly use again and handy to have your own car, only thing I missed from flying was world duty free!
"Larne to Troon ferry"
Very happy to report that we had a very pleasant and efficient trip to Scotland. Ferry landed either on time or slightly early, Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Only thing worthy of note was that drinks fridge/chiller in Club Class was out of service on the way across and 5 days later on our return trip it was still out of service. Seemed strange for such a busy ferry and in Club Class too. Drinks were cooled however using the old fashioned method involving real ice cubes.
"Travel by Cat the way to go"
New experience travelling on the Cat, excellent efficiency by their staff.
"Troon to larne"
Used Club lounge which was worth the extra cost. Major problem the bottleneck queuing to get back to car deck - no staff to assist.
"Plain Sailing"
My trip was excellent, the ferry left early and arrived on time with no issues at all. I travel to Ireland often and will definitely use this ferry service again.
"A crossing between Troon and Larne"
A pleasant journey, the reception was good and we appeciated the confort in the different rooms and restaurants
"Larne to Troon"
Very pleasant trip
"A new ship is all that is needed!"
The restaurant was a bit crowded. There was a large queue at the start of the journey and this did not dissipate until close to the end of the journey. On the same day i returned to Belfast on the Stena and found the general standard of the ship to a much higher standard. The P&O service is good but a new ship would blow the competition away.
"Troon to Larne"
We sailed on a beautiful night, and boarding and disembarkation both went very smoothly. The sail itself was delightful and any staff members and crew we encountered were friendly and helpful. One small niggle was a fair number of flies buzzing around the windows as we looked out...not sure how they got in, but of course, they could not get out.
"Nice crossing"
The crossing was very pleasant. Great staff and overall enjoyable. For tourists, it would be nice to have an area where one could get pictures from the ship.
"Very enjoyable!"
I had no idea that a ferry boat would be so classy and enjoyable!! My husband and I sat and had drinks and really enjoyed the ride!
"Family visit"
Saved £70 by booking with direct ferries. Used it to treat ourselves to the Club Lounge. Would recommend that too. Great, relaxed way to travel to Ireland. Club Lounge also includes priority boarding and disembarking, making it an even better deal.
"Trip To Northern Ireland"
Nice relaxing trip to Larne, great way to travel.
"First time"
Quick, efficient, clean and enough facilities for this short crossing. worth paying extra for the lounge.
"Enjoyable. "
Nice quick trip. Went for breakfast - bacon and toast- which was very nice but a bit cold due to having to queue to pay for it. Might be an idea to have plate covers to help keep food warm whilst having to wait to pay. Bought a magazine at the shop and found a great comfy seat ( there weren't too many passengers so this was easy). Just finished the magazine and found we had arrived at our destination. So quick. Think it was 1hr 50mins approx. Also should mention that I had my two small dogs accompanying me on the trip and had left them in the car . They seemed fine too. Comfy in their beds in the car. Great that we didn't have to pay for them either!! Would definitely travel this way again.
"Troon-Larne Sail"
Very much enjoyed a most pleasent sail, in a nice ferry with very good service from all staff.
"Review"
Great comfortable sail and staff very friendly as always. Would be useful to have more choice of snacks and meals for kids in the cafe though .
"FIRST TIMER"
Very easy trip, ticket station easy small time to board and sitting on boat relaxing. Prices on boat seemed same as on land not rip of prices. Sat and watched a movie and time flew in, toilet was a bit small and there was a wait there than that a pleasant trip. Easy to get of and on my way. Many thanks P&O, WILL BE BACK.
"Relocation to Scotland"
My wife and I moved home to Glasgow from Ireland with the help of our son and daughter. All four of us agreed that the experience - from booking to arrival was smooth; staff were helpful and courteous and meals were satisfactory.
"Nice pleasant journey"
The Larne to Troon return trip on the Express was a really great trip. We opted for the Club Lounge, which was well worth the small extra charge. Very relaxing, nice food, good service. Definitely added to the journey. A very pleasant crossing. Thanks !
"Excellent "
Hassle free boarding, very prompt, staff on deck at hand at all times , smoothly ran restaurant so no lengthy queues, easy disembarkation at destination for a busy ship.
"Troon to Larne"
Enjoyable experience will definitely use this ferry again.
"There and back"
Delayed on outward journey due to technical problem with ship, so 2hrs late arriving in Larne. However all coffees were provide free throughout crossing so that was something Return to Troon on schedule. Overall no issues as ferry was clean and comfortable and staff friendly and helpful.
"Airlines could take some lessons from P&O!"
We found our trip timely, pleasant, the ferries clean, staff friendly and had amenities we were surprised about such as movies for adults and kids, sporting events being broadcast, money exchange available and variety of choices in food. A great way to travel.
"Club class excellent value"
We learned of this well kept secret by accident but once again this made our trip so much more pleasant. Plenty of room and while the ship was not particularly busy we were able to relax and enjoy this excellent service far from the madding crowd!
"Buisness"
Food not very cheap, cold, my only gripe!
"Troon to Larne and back, April 2014"
I found the staff very helpful, polite and friendly. Food was good, and no queues! The journey was fast, comfortable and efficient, and the Captain kept us informed about features we could see as we travelled, and about general weather conditions. I was impressed by the fact that he welcomed the children as well as the adults over the intercom at the start of the journey. I was travelling by bicycle, and got first class treatment: first aboard, and disembarked ahead of all the other traffic. Thank you and well done. Tony
"From Larne to Troon"
I knew I had to have done something wrong during my 16 days of nearly non-stop movement while I visited Ireland, Northern Ireland, and Scotland. Sure enough, I had. I'd booked the wrong day's passage, but the staff in the office at Larne were great! They simply changed my ticket and wished me safe journeys. The only thing I can say (and this has nothing to do with on ship itself or the crew), is I wish the pedestrian office entry was better posted outside the facility for those of us non-locals. I had that lost look on my face, but someone was kind enough to point me in the proper direction. We had a very smoothe ride from Larne to Troon, a great captain, great crew, and a very clean ship.
"Troonand Larnewith P&O Irish Sea on the Express"
Good Experience and on schedule.
"Larne Troon crossing"
My wife and I had a very relaxing crossing, this was due to an upgrade to club class and this service I would fully recommend. Priority boarding and complimentary tea/coffee and soft drinks and snacks. I will be booking again soon through direct ferries for early July.
"Direct Ferries"
We found the whole experience very good & fuss free. Much less hasslle than I expected and I was very impressed with the way the captain can handle a ship.
"Our Trip to NI"
This was the best sailing yet, first time traveling from Troon to Larne as we normally go from Cairnryan but we will be using this ferry crossing again. Going on this ferry saved us 2 hours travelling in the car (normal traveling time 5 hour 30 mins to cairnryan) so to save this with three kids the slightly longer boat journey from Troon was brilliant. The kids loved there little activity bags that they got. Many thanks P&O and we will be travelling again sometime soon.
"Friday 11th April 2014 Troon-Larne 11am"
Excellent service loading and crossing.Good weather and visibility. Did not know there was an observation deck until the return crossing. On to deck on return journey just as Ailsa Craig was approaching on starboard side. Quite a sight, wish we had camera which was left in car.
"Short and Smooth"
We recently travelled by P&O Irish Sea ferries between Larne (Northern Ireland) and Troon (Scotland). Boarding the ship, with two vehicles, was quick and easy, as was getting from the vehicle decks to the passenger areas. The passenger areas were neat and tidy and the staff in the bar area, where we were seated, were friendly and helpful. Altogether a very smooth and quick trip, thank you.

The passenger areas were neat and tidy and the staff in the bar area, where we were seated, were friendly and helpful. Altogether a very smooth and quick trip, thank you.
"Ferry from Larne to Troon"
My husband and I have just been on 'a trip of a lifetime'. We started our trip in England, on to Ireland, Scotland and finished in Paris. We have never been on a 'ferry' for travel. It was a great experience booking was easy, staff were very courteous and the ride was smooth. We would recommend this travel venue to all our friends and family. Thanks for helping make the 'trip of a lifetime' a smooth one.
"troon-larne"
The two most beautiful islands (when the sun shines) are Ireland & Scotland and the best way to see both is via this ferry. It's simply the easiest & most economical way to travel with your worldly goods in your car. I was only disappointed that it stopped for winter while I was in Ireland so had to return via Cairnryan, a much longer and more tiring way to do it when you live in Aberdeen!
"Troon to Larne return"
Very efficient. Nothing to do if you get to Troon early. Needs a coffee shop or breakfast or something. Worth paying for priority boarding even though outward journey very quiet because of time of year, as I hate heights and going up ramps! Need more healthy options for food on board eg baked potatoes?
"Smooth and speedy"
We travelled from north of Stirling and, therefore, really appreciated the relative proximity of Troon to the major roads network - a journey of just over one hour. The passenger facilities at Troon are, at best, basic, although the actual check-in was carried out efficiently. Boarding was well organised and smoothly accomplished. The ship is well laid out, comfortable and has good facilities for passengers. The passage across to Larne was relatively smooth and, considering the strong swell on our return journey, was not uncomfortable. Unloading was well organised with the minimum of fuss. Leaving Troon to join the motorway system was, perhaps, the only section of our journey which caused annoyance. I believe this is a summer only service. It is a pity it is unable to run all year.
"Holiday"
I must say that I was well looked after on this trip to Scotland both outward and inward bound. The staff were most helpful. Mr J Mercer
"12 sept -18 sept review"
The staff were professional and friendly. Both legs of our journey went very smoothly, the boat was clean and comfortable, decaff coffees much appreciated, no baggage charges assisted us bringing back gifts. We took the train one stop to Prestwick and hired a car to tour round Scotland. The Troon crossing facilitated this holiday plan. Have you thought of a marketing tie up with a car rental company or Scotrail to offer holiday packages? Clear communication from staff ensured that waiting times and precudures were explained on the crossing. We would definitely use the crossing again.
"It was merry to Derry"
The ferry left on time going and it was a very pleasant journey with calm seas and on time! The return journey was 15 mins late due to technical problem but once going it was fine and no problems. Both ferries were clean and tidy and the food was ok and a wee bit pricy.
"A great way to travel"
My husband and I travelled to Scotland with p&o ferries. The trip was booked through direct ferries, the whole experience was easy to organise and went without a hitch. My husband is disabled so I wanted this trip to be as stress free as possible, from booking until our return trip it went like clockwork. The staff at the port were great, everyone was kind and helpful. I would use this service again.
"Smooth Sailing"
Everything about our trip went very smoothly and has converted me back to the ferry instead of flying!
"Excellent"
The Troon to Larne ferry was excellent. Plenty of room, Good food including a Costa coffee and smooth sale. All in all excellent value with 4 adults and a car for £199.
"Ferry ride Larne to Troon"
Very nice travel comfortable even though the weather was rough.
"Ferry trip with P&O"
hi I am delighted to have an opportunity to give my comments on my experience. I traveled to Troon on Friday and returned on Sunday as my daughter was going to college in Glasgow. I had absolutely no complaints with p+o ferries. I found the whole experience very pleasant and had been dreading it as I had an old horrific experience with ferry crossings! It was very efficient, staff were at all times helpful friendly and courteous. We remarked at how clean the ferry was also. I would have no hesitation in travelling with P+O again. My only complaint is unfortunately with direct ferries.co.uk. On Sunday morning due to adverse weather our ferry was cancelled. I received an e-mail from you and I proceeded to contact your office which was closed. I phoned P+O whose voice recording message said I would be contacted. Having waited some time I again contacted P+O and on eventually getting through to an operator I was told that I could not be contacted as I had booked through Direct Ferries so they did not have my contact number.I feel this is not good enough as if i had not checked my e-mail or indeed had no access to e-mail I would have known nothing of cancellation until I reached Troon. Again I must say that P+O were very efficient and accomodating in re routing us through Carnryan. Overall a good experience though. Thank You.
"Good trip"
The ferry trip was very smooth, smoother even than riding on the trains.
"Smooth sailing"
We had a great trip. It was nice to have the luggage checked since we were foot passengers without a car, and everything went very smoothly. The bus took us to the ferry from the terminal, we found some nice seats and were able to nap a little. The food and drink had a decent selection and wasn't horribly overpriced (what we had). Great weather and everyone was friendly and helpful.
"Staffing"
I would like to make a quick comment; that the Scottish staff were very friendly; warm and helpful.
"Troon to Larne Ferry"
We were really impressed with the standard of cleanliness and friendly staff and the ferry was very punctual. Car boarding was easy and access to decks no problem.
"Upgrade"
Its a really nice way to get a decent seat and have light refreshments provided and I think good value at that.
"Ferry update"
3rd September 2013 my wife and I commenced our holiday to stay with our niece for one week under normal circumstances we would have went by air. We decided to take the car and choose P+O FERRIES LARNE TO TROON RETURN, to cut a very long story short the travel was very smooth and all staff were very helpful I would recommend P&O FERRIES TO ANY TRAVELLER.
"Troon. Larne. Larne. Troon"
Super efficient service both ways. Speed of loading unloading very impressive. My wife is a very nervous sailor but remarked on how safe she felt.
"Troon to Larne"
Journey was fine, calm and on time which was the main thing we needed! Food was a bit pricey but not essential for a short trip anyway. Would travel again.
"very happy"
the staff were very helpful when loading my motorcycle, the reception we got at the lounge was polite and courtious...it was the first time id used the troon service and will do so again,we had an "experience" on another "carrier" and have yet to have a reply from our compliant !...we enjoyed our trip with P & O...thank you
"Troon to Larne P&O Irish Ferries Express"
We recently travelled on this ferry and I had upgraded to Club class and for the extra cost I was really impressed it is worth every penny , comfortable , clean, friendly helpful staff and good food. We will definitely use this service again.
"Our journey"
We love traveling by larne and Troon as it takes a lot of time and miles of our journey to see our only grandson in dirlton. The staff are all very helpfull so when we get on board we have something to eat, always a very good section , get a paper some where quiet to read, have a doze and enjoy the the journey. Very sorry it closes for winter, as we travel all year round. m
"Club class"
It is very comfortable but there was no service a male appeared to check the passengers in and then he vanished. Had to go and get our own food. Return leg on Larne to Cairnyan was excellent. A very competent Spanish assistant.
"Troon/Larne"
Had a most enjoyable trip Troon to Larne. Comfortable ship.
"29/08/2013 Thursday 08 00"
Was a very nice sailing to the Emerald isle. Troon is so handy for us. (for us) Attendants were very...'attentive' in the tearoom, & courteous, all in a great experience. Thank you.
"Express Troon to Larne"
This is a wonderful express Ferry . Does not have as much luxury as some of the other routes but it was clean and did the job. This Ferry does not have lifts on the ship so if stairs are a problem let them know ahead of boarding.
"very good crossing both ways "
Ship very clean and punctual. Catering facilities reasonable.
"Very convenient (and comfortable)."
This cut an hour's driving time off a trip to Dundee compared with arriving in Cairnryan and, as the crossing took the same time as the Belfast to Cairnryan ferry, it was certainly convenient time-wise. We were booked on the early Saturday morning crossing and on arrival at Larne were directed straight on to the ferry, with no waiting time, at the docks. There were plenty of seats available and these were high backed and comfortable. We were rather apprehensive as the forecast had promised gales, and we were warned on-board that it might be a bit choppy, but we managed a lovely cooked breakfast and, although it was rocking and rolling a bit at times, it wasn't too bad. The only regret was that the return times from Troon to Larne did not suit as the morning sailing was too early to allow us time to drive back from Dundee and we needed to be back in N.I. earlier than the time the evening sailing returned to Larne. As a result we had another hour's drive to Cairnryan after passing the turn off for Troon.
"Trip from Troon to Larne Sat 17 August 2013"
Did not use the catering, a thoroughly enjoyable experience, friendly helpful staff.
"Very simple"
We had a smooth crossing everything was catered for in a pleasant manner staff were most helpful.
"great trip"
The ferry crossing to Troon was good. The sea was calm, the service was good and I managed to get some work done on my laptop. This was a business trip. I don't like water or boats so I wore my sea bands but really didn't need them.
"Happy customer"
We had a very enjoyable journey. The staff were very efficient and friendly. The ferry was clean and comfortable. From beginning to end of journey was excellent and we left and arrived on time.
"Fantastic experience!"
On time, efficient, relaxing, comfortable. This was a great way to get from Ireland to Scotland! The efficiency at the dock and in loading/unloading is amazing. The comfortable cabin space and food/beverage selections were wonderful. Our family sat at a table and enjoyed coffee and snacks, as we had brought our own lunch along. We played cards and checked out the beautiful views along the way. A great way to travel with your car! The only problem came with a group of unsupervised boys from a sports team who ran all over, jumping on and hurdling the seats, swearing and generally causing a ruck-us. This was not the fault of the P & O staff at all, but I was surprised they were allowed to do so.
"Crossing Irish Sea from Scotland to Northern Ireland "
Pleasant Crossing, nice staff. The Express ferry was on time, the ride was quiet. Meals prices were adjusted to the holiday destination. The only tolerable point for smokers: There are in addition to the observation deck, which is very small and extremely windy no point where you could smoke. The interiors are of course taboo, but the outdoor area very limited and as I said very exposed to the weather. Express ships of other lines solved this more enjoyable. If there is no better place moderately to solve would be the establishment of a separate smoking area inside where adequate ventilation is very pleasant, especially when it rains. Sure, smokers can also suffer times, you can give them the crossing but also more enjoyable ... Otherwise, unqualified praise.
"Return trip to Scotland"
Sailed Sat. 0745 went Club class which was a good move since the boat was fairly full. Club class was worth it staff and facilities excellent Returned 1945 Wed. boat quiet but still worth it to be in Club class. Travelling Club class ensures you board first and disembark first. For a total of nearly £330 return I think they ''got their arm in'' somewhat, but I suppose if you travel in the high season they can charge you what they know people have to pay.
"A nice trip"
Ticketing was easy, and the ride was both quick and comfortable. We will ride with P&O again in the future.
"Very cold"
The ship was very cold - please adjust the level of the air-con to match the weather conditions.
"Larne to Troon"
Pleasant experience, staff were friendly, but expensive.
"Upgrade"
I decided to pay the additional £12 to get priority boarding (ala Ryanair) and get access to the lounge. I had never done this before but I was pleased with the service. I think it was worthwhile. I spent all my trip in the lounge reading a book and order a snack. I was on my way quickly once we landed in Larne. I travel on the Larne/Troon ferry quite frequently and am disappointed that it does not run in winter.
"Weekend break"
This was the best crossing to Ireland I ever had not just that the sea was calm but also the very helpful and courteous crew. We upgraded to club class and it was a really nice way to travel the girls were wonderful very attentive. We had plenty of room to move around, it was a relaxed and airy atmosphere. Loved it will certainly use club class in the future.
"Just sit back and relax"
I liked the very easy on line booking, just a few details and tickets booked in plenty of time for our trip from Troon to Larne. The staff were very friendly and obviously value their customers. The facilities on board were good and everything was well signposted. I would happily recommend and use direct ferries again. R.Wilson
"Disappointing"
Good crossing for us but extremely disappointed with the fact that we had to leave our dog in the car. He was extremely distressed.
"Larne to Troon Ferry Wednesday 24th July 2013 07.45am"
I had a good crossing and everyone was very pleasant. My only complaint was that the little trays on the seats were dirty.
"Excellent service"
A very pleasant crossing. On time. An perfect service. Thanks
"Crossing the sea"
P&O ferry was very easy and organized compared to a prior trip with a different carrier. They were very easy.
"Great convenient trip"
We had a great trip both ways on the ferry - very helpful personnel, seats were comfortable, great trip.
"Quick and enjoyable"
fast and very efficient, just enough time to take in the movie or have a pint if it takes your fancy.
"P&O Troon/Larne Ferry"
Enjoyed our ferry trip from Troon to Larne on 4 July and return journey on the 12th. The weather was lovely so it was a very pleasant and calm crossing. The Club Lounge was extremely comfortable and we all enjoyed the refreshments which were made available. Highly recommend this ferry route if you are taking your car to Ireland.
"Easy journey"
We had a great return journey from Troon to Larne. Well worth the extra for priority parking and club lounge.
"Scotland by Ferry"
Good value: Larne to Troon return trip for six of us on motorcycles, at only £80 each, the return trip it represented good value. The ferry was clean and efficient and perfectly serviceable for a two hour duration crossing.
"HOLIDAY 2013"
We had a very pleasant journey. Staff were helpful and friendly.
"Happy"
The trip was great as I had booked club class, and being disabled it is a lot more comfortable for me, also getting my car on near the front and getting off quicker was even better. The staff in club lounge are very helpful and friendly which makes the trip even more enjoyable, so all in all I was happy with my trip.
"Excellent"
Very happy with the boat plenty of room, staff where very helpful. Very pleased with the service.
"Pleasant, trouble free journey"
This was my first time on the Troon to Larne crossing and it was well organised, on time and a fast exit on arrival. However my 3 year old granddaughter was with me and there were several young children on board so I was surprised there was no play area for the children. I know there was a children's entertainer on board but that is not enough for restless children!
"Larne To Trip"
A fast, on-time and smooth journey, I plan to take this route again.
"So easy and helpful"
I recently travelled to Ireland with my elderly mum who walks with a stick and 2 of my children. I found the service and approach of all staff at all points on our journey kind and helpful. We hadn't booked ahead for special help for mum but realized when we got there that the stairs may be a little tricky. We were offered a special priority boarding position so she did n't have to walk upstairs which was helpful though a bit tricky for me as i drive a 7 seater car which was tricky getting up to the top deck for parking. Like going to top floor of multi-storey car park. Also on journey out there was entertainment on board which was excellent. 3 lovely Irish girls singing there own stuff. The only little problem was the toilets got blocked but I reported this and it was dealt with promptly (wasn't me i have to add) but the water pressure in the toilets was not great. The journey out was choppy but the captain kept us all informed and our journey was slightly deviated to make it a little better so no major problems only one big wave which really rocked the boat. A little bit frightening for the kids but otherwise was quite a bit like a ride at the fun fair and travel sickness pills helped. On the way back we brought my 16 year old nephew with us and added him as an extra passenger at the port just as we were driving through no hassle and very cheap. I will be travelling to Ireland again soon and will definitely travel again by P&O Irish Ferries.
"P&O ferries"
Excellent service, staff helpful, would use this company again.
"Good journeys"
My wife and I had good journeys, Troon/Larne and Larne/Troon. The sailings were on time and the facilities on the ship were clean and comfortable. One slight disappointment: The Costa Cafe onboard did not accept our Costa Club cards and so we were denied the additional points. Hopefully P&O will rectify this soon, otherwise we'll bring a flask of coffee with us in future. That said, everything else including the helpfulness and politeness of the staff was highly commendable.
"Great way to travel to Scotland!"
We recently travelled from Larne to Troon for a holiday in Scotland. The P and O fast ferry is a great way to travel. The journey was very pleasant, the ship very comfortable and crew friendly. It is our second year to travel with P&O and we shall certainly do so again for our next holiday. It beats hanging around in airports any time.
"Crossing to Ireland"
Very clean and confortable staff very good would recommend to anyone.
"Great Trip on P&O Ferry from Larne, N. Ireland to Troon, Scotland"
Loved the ferry trip from Larne to Troon. Beautiful, clean ferry with all the conveniences. Crew is very nice and helpful. Windy, rainy weather but very nice inside. This was one of the highlights of our trip. A woman in the office immediately called us a taxi to take us to the train station. If you are considering the ferry and don't get seasick, this is an excellent way to go from N. Ireland to Scotland.
"Car Ferry - Larne to troon and Return"
I recently took my car and a passenger on P&O's Irish Sea car ferry from Ireland to Scotland return, and found that the experience was overwhelmingly positive. I have no hesitation in recommending this service.
"P&O Irish Sea between Troon and Larne"
The ships were very nice and well kept. The port at Troon doesn't have a passenger walkway though for boarding so we had to go through the vehicle deck.
"Our trip to Ireland after 30 years"
My mother came from near Tipperary and I had many holidays in Ireland when I was younger. It seemed a good time to show the area to my Wife who had never been there. From Scotland the logical departure point is either Cairnryan or Stranraer. Due to technical difficulties with our booked ferry we were moved to a later boat which was however a superfast (1hr) Express. The return, the following Saturday, was on the normal speed European Highlander. All staff both on and off board were both friendly and efficient but my only complaint would be the extortionate prices charged for food and drinks on board. Three pounds eighty for the smallest cup of tea and hot chocolate is simply a rip off. The lesson learned from our experience is use the company but forget the refreshments.
"Costly"
Great service but inappropriately expensive and I suspect inhibitive to many potential visitors especially with motorhomes such as us.
"Not applicable"
Enjoyable, relaxing and safe. A nice way to travel when the sea is calm and relaxing.
"Sailing experience"
Was good trip, sailed on time, clean boat, staff helpful.
"Relaxing and timely"
Wish this service was available all year round! So easy and accessible.
"When you need to get to Scotland"
I needed to get to Scotland quickly due to a family issue.I was glad to find there were two sailings per day. I could not manage the 11 o'clock sailing but it was good to know that I could get back to Larne on the 7.30pm sailing. I did not use the bar,the food court or the shop so I cannot comment but for what I needed the service fitted the bill.
"Professional, Friendly Staff was most helpful"
We were very pleased with our trips on the P&O from Larne to Troon and back again. The staff was very helpful and answered our questions patiently. No delays, and an easy departure and arrival on both ends.
"larne return"
First class service no fuss, no bother.
"Delightful trip"
Delightful trip from Larne to Troon. The ferry is quite luxurious and smooth and the booking online was very easy. Thanks for such an unstressful voyage.
"Lovely ferry trip"
Very pleasant trip.
"Larne - Troon"
Very impressed, got a day return for a car and two passengers for only £60. Excellent value for money.
"Good manners"
I enjoyed my trip both ways and being disabled i could not have asked for more. The people looking afer me were wonderful seeing me onboard and getting of both ways. J Mercer
"Larne - Troon Return last weekend"
Excellent service especially from Gerald in the club class lounge. If I had a vacancy I would employ this man tomorrow purely on his manner and helpfulness. All other staff - little contact but seemed warm and pleasant. Ship was clean and well kept. Captain kept us informed regularly thoughout the trip. I felt the ship was clean and well maintained throughout. Apart from a coffee and an apple I did not use the catering service. Very punctual and a very pleasant outgoing and return trip. Will book again soon.
"Great Day out to the Titanic Experience"
Made a last minute booking and was lucky to find a very cheap special offer journey P&O have on from Troon to Larne. Decided to splash out with the money I'd saved and upgraded to the Club Lounge (highly recommended). Managed to comfortably drive to Belfast and spend a couple of hours at the new Titanic Experience, before travelling back to get the evening ferry home. Fantastic service from the staff on the sailing to Larne (thanks Gerard), and all in all a great (and relaxing) day out.
"Windy chaos"
We arrived on time for our journey and there was a modedrate wind blowing. Unfortunately the boat was not sufficiently sea worthy to make the crossing with moderate winds. There then followed utter chaose for a few hours when the company officials could not detremine whether a larger boat was going to be brought into service or not. the chaos was such that some passengers became upset and an elderly policeman was brought in to establish order. Eventually many hours later we were redirected towards Stranraer. The weather cannot be helpded - but one wonders at a boat not being capable of making the crossing and about the subsequent inefficiency regarding alternative arrangements. I will use flight whenever possible.
"Irish Trip"
Excellent trip across the Irish sea - very speedy and efficient!
"Troon-Larne Return"
Earlier this month (May 2013) we travelled by car on this service, which departed 15 min earlier than the advertised time, as it did two weeks later on the return. We were alerted well in advance to rough seas in the North Channel on the outward journey, and of rough water, strong NW winds and consequently a diverted course on the return. From check-in onwards, all staff were friendly and helpful; especially appreciated was a member of the buffet staff bringing hot drinks to our seats during the very rough return.
"Troon to Larne "
The first time on this ferry route and I was very pleased although a wee bit pricey, I bought the extra priced ticket for the lounge which was satisfactory but comfortable. I look forward to using the ferry it again.
"Relaxing Trip"
My brother and I enjoyed our time relaxing as we crossed over and when we returned.
"The Fast Lane from Scotland to Ireland"
As an Irishman living in Scotland I travel frequently with car to Ireland from Scotland and like the P&O Express from Troon to Larne. It is a very convenient and comfortable way to travel, especially since Troon is so accessible from Central Scotland and avoids the rather winding (although scenic) trip to Cairnryan or Stranraer. The sea in the Firth of Clyde is usually quite calm so the journey is very smooth, apart from about 30' in the North Channel which can be rocky depending on wind & tide. As the staff advise, better to stay seated, if the vessel is rolling, and there are plenty of places to sit and relax.
"Great trip"
After I totally messed up my booking on line the girl at P&O at Troon was delightful and fixed everything up. We travelled on a very busy weekend and boarding and disembarking were easy.
"Helping"
Thought the staff could not be more helpful 10 out of 10.
"Troon to Larne"
The boat was very well rigged out. I was extremly disappointed not to be able to go on deck. The viewing area was small, people smoking, and fence too high for me to see clearly over. Perhaps overkill on the safety regs. Food rather high in calories, no salads or small decent cakes. Therefore only had tea.
"Quick & Convenient"
Quick & convenient. Also took 1 hour off journey time to Dundee, compared with previous crossings to Cairnrnyan. As one member of the group has a disabled badge we were able to get level access on to the ferry from the car deck which was very much appreciated. Definitely would use this crossing again. Thank you.
"Great experience on board"
Ferry left on time, ferry was also spotless and had plenty of seats.
"Troon Larne Larne Troon"
We thought we would have a nice sausage on a roll with coffee for our breakfast on board. The bread was defrosted, certainly not fresh. The coffee we poured away as it was undrinkable, very bitter and strong. We were very disappointed. Not sure what the extra cost of a club seat would be as the ticket is expensive anyway. As a result we did not eat on our return journey and went for a fish supper in Troon when we arrived home. We would recommend the crossing to friends but with reservations.
"poor catering"
Journey was fine, quick and easy boarding, plenty of space and views. had a meal on the return journey from the main restaurant. It was not very good - and very expensive for a spoonful of macaroni cheese with no veg or chips - £7.99. The announcer said that there was range of hot and cold dishes available but when I went to the counter I was told that there were no salad or cold dishes on the menu.
"Larne - Troon"
On arrival in Troon, it took almost a full hour to disembark at the harbour. It was very windy but not stormy in any way. Either this type of ship is not suitable for the crossing, or the port of where we embark should be changed. Otherwise we were very happy with the crossings and the service.
"Pleasant journey "
Despite having to go to Cairnryan instead of Troon for our outward journey, we had no problems. Ferry was on time. Staff efficient and pleasant. Onboard facilities good and reasonably priced. Ferry barely half full both journeys - perhaps price could be lowered at off peak periods to create more interest. Would use service again.
"Car journey"
It was great, I only wonder if the cost for bringing a vehicle could be at all lower from P&O.
"Travel to Londonderry - European Highland Dancing Championships"
I travelled with my mum and two children aged 6 and 8. We really enjoyed the experience it was very relaxing and taking the car we could take as much stuff as we needed. This is a plus point with children as you are limited to what you can take by air. The children just loved wondering around and felt very safe at all times. The staff were very welcoming, warm and friendly. We left our booking to the last minute and felt it was a little pricey but you can't put a price on a memory as the kids loved it!
"Larne/Troon/Larne"
Very good service. Staff very friendly and helpful.
"Recent ferry Trip"
All good except that the cabin was a little cold and draughty - especially near the air-con air circulation vents.
"Cairnryan/Larne"
Just back from a few days in Ireland having crossed with P@O where the staff were very friendly and helpful. Will be using them again in the future.
"good service"
efficient service with polite staff.
"Poor ferry terminal service"
I am disabled and due to one of my illnesses am not permitted to drive. On the three occasions I have used Cairnryan Ferry Terminal as a foot-passenger, I have been denied entrance to the cafe. Foot-passengers are not allowed to pass security until the very last moment whilst car drivers and passengers can use cafe facilities sometimes 2 hours before departure. It seems to me foot-passengers are an anachronism only to be tolerated. Onboard facilities are fair, but nothing to write home about.
