"Review"
The crossing was ok, but after viewing our cabin very surprised to find no guards on the top bunks (these had clearly been removed as you could see where they had been) on making enquiries at the information desk found out they had to be hired at additional cost. This is not acceptable for a vital piece of health and safety equipment. Also ordered a quite expensive hot chocolate in the food area and was disappointed to recieve a sachet for me to add hot water to - very disappointing.
"Cabin"
The toilet area smelled badly of wee. It was either a leak or it had not been cleaned.
"Cash less policy"
Why is it no longer possible to buy a cup of coffee with cash? Why are there no quiet areas on this ferry? It is a long trip and there is no where comfortable to sit quietly and read a book.
"Good Trip"
The trip was seamless as expected and was very efficient. Good facilities and however the cost of food was more expensive than anticipated however expected.
"Great experience"
Overall a great experience, liked the boat and the whole entire package. Was driving from Frankfurt to Frederikshavn and took the ferry to Oslo, it's awesome to just arrive in Oslo directly, on the way back I took a night ferry, which was great, because you're basically going to sleep and when you wake up, you and your car are already at the port of destination. Now I regret that I didn't purchase more items in their duty free shop, loads of spirits, cosmetics, as well as food items for a good price for value. Had also dinner in their a la carte restaurants and definitely had a great time, it's probably one of the best fish meals I have ever had. Staff was friendly and supportive, will definitely recommend anyone to pay a visit. Enjoy!

"Awesome "
It was a really great trip ad the buffet was delicious 😋
"Panasz"
"Cruise or ferry? "
It is not clear that this is sold as a cruise rather than a ferry. As a result there are almost no available seats to spend the nine hour trip. If you do not book a cabin, you have to spend the day in one of the noisy bars. The front of the ship is taken up by a spa denying you one of the more spectacular views of other ships.
"Pleasent trip"
The trip was smooth and pleasant. We enjoyed the free wi-fi. Should be more seats in the lounge.
"Norway adventure"
Dining room was very good and breakfast, whilst not cheap, had lots of variety and you could eat as much as you like. Hot food could be a little hotter. Staff were attentive and friendly. We had a cabin which was clean and perfectly adequate. Slightly better than expected. First half of the voyage from Frederikshavn to Oslo is pretty boring but a leisurely breakfast eats up a lot of the morning. The approaches to Oslo in the afternoon are very interesting as the vessel steams up Oslo fjord
"Best way from Norway to denmark"
A very comfortable ship. Excellent dinner and breakfast. Unfortunately our cabin was deck 4 rear and very noisy engine all night.
"An amazing trip"
I spent very nice time in this ferry, everything was good and the general atmosphere really great. I would recommend it
"oslo to frederikshavn Thursday october 27th"
The service we received was very good. the facilities and directions were good at both ports and the staff on board were very helpful. Our cabin was very clean and of a good standard
"Generally good to have a trip with the huge boat."
Staffs are very friendly. The Bay Looked So nice.
"Ferry"
All went as planned. Nice boat.
"Great experience"
Great boat, great views, great experience. Rusty spots on deck here and there.
"A sunny and quiet travel"
A sunny and quiet travel
"A good trip"
It could have all been different. Arrived in plenty of time and a very pleasant young man did our paper work and directed is to lane 5, where we waited and followed everyone else on to the ferry. I wondered why the sign said Gothenburg when we were going to Oslo and queried it with the loaders and had to do a quick exit as we were on the wrong boat! The trip to Oslo was a 9 hour, smooth ride on good weather. The boat itself was clean and the staff spoke good English and were helpful and polite.
"Like a cruise."
I paid 36 pound for this crossing with my motorcycle, and for a 10 hour crossing this could be the cheapest mode of transport in the world! The crew were great and helpful, and due to the lovely weather everybody was on the sun deck listening to the live music that was being laid on for free. I think its fair to say that this was the most enjoyable and scenic (once you got in to the fjords) cruise, sorry, I mean ferry that I have been on! Well worth the money.
"Opinion"
Super recommend
"Quick transport"
Oslo - Fredrikshavn - Oslo was for me first and foremost just a means of transportation (round trip Århus was my goal), but I was looking forward to the time I was going to spend on the boat. The first thing I saw were beer glasses all over outside deck and they had been used as ash trays. This happened again on the return trip home, where there were even more "beer glass ash trays" around. Yuck. On the return trip I bought soup, goulash, which is the worst I have been served in my life. The bread roll that came with did not taste anything at all. And before eating this I searched all over the cafeteria for a chair without too many spots. Yuck. The toilets did not work. That is, one toilet was working, but there was no lock on the door. Yuck. Fortunately I had a cabin both on the outbound and on the return journey and for the most part I stayed in the cabin. Worn down boat. Seady decorations. Bad food. A disappointment.
"ferries"
All in line with the expectations, maniacal organization even at the restaurant.
"Northway's trip"
Excellent experience, punctual and clean
"Story of the crossing Frederishavn Oslo"
It was a nice and peaceful journey, a ferry like a cruise ship. Toilets always clean, nice staff always ok, I travelled to Greece and Sadinia so many times, there is nothing to say with Stena Line, low prices, another world.
"Stena ferry"
nice trip, excellent cabins, comfortable and clean. Breakfast was generous . The ferry fast and on time.
"Frederikshavn-Oslo 7 June 2015"
Great crossing despite the waves because of the wind. Unfortunately, we left too late and therefore arrived later than planned. Furthermore, it was a satisfactory trip.
"Frederikshavn - Oslo "
Tidy ship and friendly staff, buffet breakfast was delicious and we arrived on time. The cabin on deck 2 was small but clean (the cabins on this deck aren't suitable for passengers who suffer from claustrophobia).
"Positive"
We had a very pleasant crossing. The price of the outside cabin was slightly higher, but well worth it. You have a view of what happens.
"This One Goes to An 11 "
Bit of a nonsense to call this a ferry. Its a floating palace, beautifully furnished and equipped with every facility and convenience to hand. Smooth effortless crossing enhanced by personable staff. If it wasn`t on the other side of the world I would do it again in a heartbeat ! (please ensure that my e-mail address is not broadcast or made public on any forum)

"Good service and staff"
We travelled from Oslo to Frederikshavn on board the Stena Saga on August 12, 2014. We had a good experience on board and the crew was friendly. We did not booked dinner in advance, but there was still a spot available for us in the restaurant. We had a cabin on Deck 2, but because we found it scary to sleep 'under water', we asked whether there was another cabin available on the upper deck; the crew was able to find us another cabin and we did not have to pay a single penny for it! Whether we slept well? Well not really, but that was not because of the ship, cabin, the crew or the passengers, it was because the weather was really bad with storms and thunderstorms all night...
"Worth the money"
We made a roundtrip from Czech Republic to Norway and Sweden and back. We used a ferry from Frederikshavn to Oslo. Boat was nice and clean. It was windy a sunny day. First half of the trip was pretty boring but in the end when the cost started coming closer do our boat and we entered the fjord leading to Oslo, it was beautiful scenery. The ferry is pretty cheap for what you get.
"Good trip"
Good clean cabin and nice food. Boat clean and left and arrived on time.
"JOURNEY TO FREDRIKSHAVN"
Thanks to Stena Line/Stena Saga for a lovely cabin and a good buffet
"Overnight to Frederikshavn"
Excellent crossing, I booked a share of a four-berth cabin but had it to myself which was a bonus. Free WiFi worked well.
"Very nice"
The ship is clean and efficient. A few problems, however. Coffee machine did not work in purser's lobby. Wifi was too busy to ever be of service. Food selections were not adequately posted throughout ship.
"price ok"
We enjoyed visiting ship between Oslo and Frederikshavn. We did not have to drive so much and could dance in the evening and rest the night. The price was not too high and C cabin was also ok. We will surely come again.
"Crossing Sept. 2013 "
Crossing in total o.k. Unfortunatelly, got no place for dinner. Breakfast was alright, eggs were cold, Coffee badly. Cabin and cleanliness was ok.
"Olso Freidrikshaven crossing"
Mangnificent trip. We opt out for a cheapest cabin and we were with a child. Everything was perfect. Some teenagers were making noise but within few minutes they were politely asked to calm down and everybody could sleep. Truly excellent experience.
"Slow start of a great journey"
Partly due to the weather noth outward and return journey were enjoyable. It took a long time before boarding could start on departure from Oslo. An additional hour at the port was no fun. But once on board eveyrthing was OK.
"Passage Frederikshavn - Oslo and back "
Public toilets and stairs to the upper deck were tw. Dirty, but cabin, shower, bed linen and towels were clean and tidy. Aboard The staff was helpful and friendly at all times. Overall, the passage was ok!
"Exemplary"
Very punctual, functional and good entertainment
"A good crossing"
A great crossing. A good company
"Stena Line Oslo-Frederikshaven"
Bought tickets for a crossing from Oslo to Frederikshavn online from DirectFerries. In Oslo we received our tickets upon showing our printed email confirmation. The departure from Oslo is magnificent because it leaves from the fjord. Our cabins were simple but adequate and there was plenty of entertainment, food and shopping.
"oslo frederikshavn"
In one word- splendid. Everything well organised. Cabin was neat and clean.
"satisfaction"
v good confort safety services
"very good "
We had no cabin on the outward journey, but on the upper deck had good and comfortable seating. On the return trip, a 4-bed cabin, we had a couple just for us. We are of the opinion that to sleep this was sufficient to completely. It was clean and had enough room, too.
"About Great ride with good service "
We have enjoyed the crossing with our 2 girls (7 and 9 years) very much. Everything has worked out perfectly. For the girls it was the first time on such a large ferry and they did not get more out of amazement. We have booked the ferry line from Norway about 8 days prior to departure and everything worked perfectly. One good thing :-) In any case, again with Stena Line!
"Total overheated cabin "
All met my expectation except for the air in the cabin. Despite asked to full cold "air conditioning" it was in the cabin at night so hot that a sleep was not thinking. Since you will be forced when driving at night from Oslo to Frederikshavn, an additional - not suitable for sleeping - cab booking fee, I rate negativ!
"Very fast trip"
We enjoyed the trip with one exception and that was not being told before hand that we would be thrown out of our cabin three hours before we reached our destination so they could clean. Other than that we did enjoy the trip from Frederikshavn to Oslo.
"Review connection Frederikshavn to Oslo "
Basically, everything was fine. The outside cabin was clean and tidy. Not like, however, that the cabin had to be abandoned already 2.5 hours before arrival. One hour prior to arrival and a clear indication when booking would have been appropriate.
"Day 4 of 4"
This day-time trip was the final day of a drive from Cardigan (Wales) to Oslo so a relaxing time was wanted and for the most part received. Facilities were ok however entertainment relied on a certain 'Butlins' style which was not my thing. For food, I only ate pre-packed stuff, which was good, so can't comment on the cafeteria/restaurant. One thing I can say is that the trip was stunning value (I travelled 1-way, booked 2 months in advance for a date before a summer price rise on 1st August).
"Frederikshavn - Oslo crossing"
An 8 hours journey for which I recommend to book a cabin. Our cabin was clean and functional. It enabled us to have a shower. An orchestra was playing tunes that were popular in Norway. The space allocated for my vehicle was ok, no damage or breakage as it can happen on other boats. I recommend this ferry company, but also "directferries" who I was able to book through, although it was no longer possible with Stena Lines. I cannot comment about the quality of the food, because I didn't use this service, as catering in Norway cost the earth and is limited to snacks and hot dogs.
"Trip from Oslo to Frederikshavn"
We enjoyed this trip. It was very nice and well taken care of. The cabin was clean. Staff was friendly and helpful.
"Ferry"
The ferry was clean and staff on board very professional.
"Oslo to Frederikshavn"
The journey south from Oslo through the fjord is very picturesque and the ferry travels slowly enough to see all the sights and take photos. I was very lucky that the weather was warm and sunny. The ferry has all that you'd wish for an overnight stay aboard. Various dining choices, bars, slot machines and the duty free shop all offer more than enough to entertain yourself for the journey. The room (inside) was very clean and quiet and the bed was comfortable. Highly recommended.
"Sleepless crossing from Oslo to Frederikshaven "
This was certainly my last crossing, as a disco was obviously above our cabin. A sleeping cabin would not have been necessary to be booked, since the nicht had to be spent largely sleepless. Moreover, you were woken quite early, so that the remaining time (about 1 hour) could hardly be used for sleeping. Moreover, the cabin was only provided with 2 towels for 2 persons equipped Total-also quite poor. I will next time a fast ferry from Kristans to Larvik-book is cheaper and one is in 2 hours over there. their savings I will invest in a sleeping cabin in Norway. It must also be criticized that can only be paid by credit card. Online-Banking is not accepted.
"Congratulations"
Perfectly organised, ponctual, well equiped, a good entertainment for all audiences, fast boarding and disembarkment. You can see that they are experienced. A drawback though: prices are not written in euros and the menus are not in French. It takes more time for your staff to explain everything in English.
"Trip to Norway"
Everything fine on my crossing to Norway
"Overview"
Excellent ship, everything was on time, thanks.
"Frederikshavn-Oslo ferry crossing "
Booking, check in and out was quick and easy. As it was a early booking the trip price was very acceptabel. seats were, especially in the interior, were very limited. Alcohol consumption of a few passengers was not very exciting. We would use the ferry at any time.
"Good crossing"
Nice trip. Loading/un-loading was quick and well organised and we had a comfortable cabin.
"Good trip, good ship"
WE travelled overnight from Oslo to Denmark on board the Stena Saga. Although the ship arrived 30 minutes late we arrived on time on Denmark. Accommodation was spotless and perfectly adequate and we had a good nights sleep. The buffet in the restaurant was excellent and the overall experience was good.
"Efficient, but lack of public space"
We were very impressed with the efficiency of loading and unloading the ferry, with the competent and helpful staff (both when we contacted them electronically and when we met them in person). The room (the cheapest available) was clean and more convenient than hostel accommodations. When I booked, I had no idea that a cabin would be required--this was a huge boon! However, since we don't relish dining, gaming, smoking, or duty-free shopping, we found that there were few public spaces where we could comfortably hang out. I missed this, but since we travelled from 19.30-7:30, we spent quite a bit of the time sleeping. Overall, it was a smooth, safe, convenient trip.
"A very enjoyable experience ;))"
We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Stena Saga and the Children's Boat earlier this year, in February. We travelled with 2 grand children who had not previously traveled by boat and they had a magnificent experience. The nicest thing about our trip was det amazing ship personel who assisted us in any way possible. A special thank you to the woman who cleaned our cabin on Captain's Class. I slept like a baby almost all the way back to Oslo. I was tired after having taken care of the grand children for 23 hours. In addition I have a handicap. We are travelling again now in June and we are so looking forward to bringing the youngest grand child along and her mother. Mona and Terje
